For me, a story is made from good to great with its ending. While  Crooked Kingdom doesn’t have the same impossible heist story as the first book, it’s filled with drama, intrigue and action as Kaz Brekker plots to get his fortune – and just revenge – from Van Eck, while keeping Pekka Rollins at the forefront of his mind. In Crooked Kingdom, we spend all our time in the city of Ketterdam and we get a BEAUT new map of the city at the beginning of the book to show for it. It is the final book in the Six of Crows Duology. The movie, Oceans 11, meets explosive magic in Six of Crows, the first book in this action-packed duology. Nina's dialogue is filled with unapologetic self-admiration and supposed female-empowerment, which was ok at first but it got old very quickly. One in particular was very irksome (warning, minor rant ahead). In Crooked Kingdom, I didn't click with them like I did before. •A brief, unfinished sketch of what I imagine Kaz's Crooked Kingdom looks like.• Another five stars for a novel by Leigh Bardugo.
